FREE ENTOMOLOGY WALK!

An opportunity to see some of the insects that make heathland such a special habitat. The Horsell Common Sand Pit is a hot spot for solitary bees and wasps, including the Bee Wolf and the Green-eyed Flower Bee.

The Sand Pit, famous as the landing site of the Martian invasion in H G Wells’s War of the Worlds, is now home to 1000s of Bee Wolves! The shallow bowl makes it a very special habitat for these and other amazing creatures.

Leisurely walk lead by entomologist and Horsell Common Preservation Society trustee, Andrew Halstead.

FIND US: The walk will be held at Horsell Common near Woking, nearest postcode GU21 4JF. Meeting point confirmed on booking. Free parking available.

FREE. Suitable for all ages and anyone able to negotiate heathland paths. No dogs please.
